Poem: Snowflake

Snowflakes on my lips, sunshine on my face,

Bitter wind on my eyes, my hands recoil in my pockets.

I walk dreaming away the fractures of my breath,

Thinking you’re staying away,

Sitting on the edge, afraid to take the leap;

Breaking my faith, inaction crumbling my mind.

It hurts my heart, it hurts my soul,

Crystalising pain, tempting every time to run away.

A snowflake my heart is,

Slowly melting away.
