Poem: Inhale, Exhale

We inhale when we are born,
When our soul welcomes us into this world.
And, after a full, rich life,
We exhale when we die;
The anchoring breath throughout our life
Waving us goodbye.
It guided us to feel alive,
To fulfill our dreams,
To learn lessons in this lifetime.
It allowed us to take in life,
To marvel at the stars,
To inhale and exhale in awe of
What was before our eyes.
It allowed us to ground down,
To be in the present moment,
To nourish every single cell
With alive love.
And then one day,
It was time to show gratitude
For the abundant lessons in our lifetime
And to exhale one last time.
