Chaos & Life

'Ancient Egyptians believed that the first and most necessary ingredient in the universe was chaos. It could sweep you away, but it was also the place from which all things start anew.'

Dawn, The Book of Two Ways

Chaos is the place from which all things start anew. Pause. Take that in. Chaos, that which we instinctively run away from and profoundly hope we do not have to face, ever. Yet, if we do not face chaos we are not alive. Chaos is the motor for change, the undesirable but fundamental cog in the universe's ethereally and impeccably designed machine; chaos is that  which will be the undeniable catalyst for new beginnings. Chaos helps us move forward. Chaos challenges us to grow. Chaos is part of us and we are part of it because in the universe everything is inextricably interconnected.

Our humanness will viscerally lead us and tempt us to fear chaos but, spiritually, we know that chaos is growth, renewal and, ultimately, life. Chaos will challenge us to the point of exhaution and helplessness yet, in those dark moments of fear, we will be evolving and learning about ourselves. We will reach a point where we will look back and retrospectively understand how much of the path we've walked, how far we've come, how much we've learnt.

Chaos is not to be feared but embraced. Chaos is not to be seen as a sign of weakness but revered as an element of progress and evolution. Chaos is to be perceived as the key ingredient for the ebb and flow of all that is and the universe's timeless song.

Chaos is the place from which all things start anew
